How soon do they >go out? > >Greg Greg, How I discovered this. I noticed a caster was creating a sympathetic vibration during a tuning. So, I moved the piano a few inches to have the caster touch the floor. Resumed the tuning only to find that it didn't sound right. Made some checks to verify in the tenor section, lo and behold, it was not where I put it. Moved the piano back, went back in tune. Went on and finished the tuning. Please, keep in mind that these are university classroom pianos that are used for theory training, therefore any deviation from decent intervals can create a hindrance to the learning process.
