New Steinway prep

I imagine the direction of the grain on the two sides, amount of tolerance
allowed, and the change in RH is not working.  It's not a big deal to trim
them on a band saw or table saw, but, I couldn't remove them.  Also, it's
the idea that you have to make a trip and the time etc.  Thanks,
