Hi Conrad- Optimumizing action leverage and ratios can be frustrating work, but it ain't rocket science either. In time, and with each job, it makes more sense. Studying samples first and preparing ledgers of the results is very helpful and wise. First, go buy yourself a nice digital scale, preferably with the department budget. Can't speak for what may be going on with a 17.5mm shank. Interesting, but not too surprised if Hamburg may have tried something like that in the past. ______________________ ______________________ Dennis Johnson Piano Technician St. Olaf College Northfield, MN. 55057 (507) 646-3587 shop (507) 646-3527 fax (612) 529-6123 home
