Piano Covers

Good morning list,
The macintosh covers on our concert grands are tearing all to pieces.
They're also not protecting the pianos as well as I'd like, particularly
since I installed caster brakes on the trucks. So, I need to order new
covers.

Which ones do you suggest? At another university where I used to work,
they had what appeared to be an all cotton cover which had the grommets
around the edges. It was particularly heavy, but did a much better job of
protecting the piano. But I don't find this cover described in the
catalogs unless it is the one in the Schaff (48A or B) and Jansen (J48B)
catalogs described as "black heavy duty close-weaved duck, padded with
cotton filling". Schaff's "piano mover's cover" (49) is only for pianos up
to 7'.

I ordered the "black vinyl" (BLV) with the fleece lining from APSCO for an
S&S B I service in a church, but I'm not sure that's what I want in this
application.

I remember the thread where it was discussed that heavy covers tend not to
get replaced. But the lids of our concert grands are being beaten to a
frazzle against columns on our stage.

Which cover do you recommend?
Thanks,
Jeff
