Damper Lift Problem

Avery,

I just pulled the action out of a Duo-Art S&S M (player long
gone...). The brass pitman is enough smaller than the hole in the keybed
that there is a LOT of variation possible in angle.

If I pulled the top of the pitman toward me, the tray moved easily and
quite far. If I pushed it back, the pedal became VERY heavy and hardly
lifted the tray. Unfortunately, I've deleted your original post, but
shifting that pitman that way sure gave an instant global lift change.
