Avery, I just pulled the action out of a Duo-Art S&S M (player long gone...). The brass pitman is enough smaller than the hole in the keybed that there is a LOT of variation possible in angle. If I pulled the top of the pitman toward me, the tray moved easily and quite far. If I pushed it back, the pedal became VERY heavy and hardly lifted the tray. Unfortunately, I've deleted your original post, but shifting that pitman that way sure gave an instant global lift change.
