It is only a theory of _mine_. No proof it helps or prevents anything, but.............. Because the hammer felt sometimes comes unglued from the molding going from very wet to very dry, I soak the edges of the hammer felt with thin CA to help hold it and prevent it from pulling away. My thinking is that because of the compression the felt is under, once the felt begins to pull away at the edges, it snowballs and pulls away quickly from there. I have done this on several and they haven't pulled away, but only by treating some and not others would we ever know for sure (?). You do not put so much glue that it wicks up enough to affect tone/hardness. P.S. For the brown key fronts, I mask off and paint with gloss white paint.
