Yes, agreed, I forget to mention the mushy tuning pin feeling not very
pleasing to tune for that also, but one get acquainted to it with time.
Makes me think that the Kaway guys have screwed up something and that it was
unnoticed by the customer, or there is a soundboard stiffness problem, or
plate mellowness. As I tune 2 of them each month I can confirm the lack of
stability also.

  Part of the tuning stability problem arises from the very 'rubbery' feel
of the pin/plank area. There is very little indication of when one has 'set'
the pin because there is a sense that both the steel of the pin and the
plank are 'soft', even though the pins are 'tight' in the plank. This sounds
like contradiction, but I can't find another way of describing it. Having
said all this, I can guarrantee that pitch will have dropped after a 6 month
period on the domestic pianos.  My comparisons are with the countless
Yamahas  ! which I tune and the growing number of Chinese imports.
