Makes me think that the Kaway guys have screwed up something and that it was unnoticed by the customer, or there is a soundboard stiffness problem, or plate mellowness. As I tune 2 of them each month I can confirm the lack of stability also. Nice PSO Isaac Part of the tuning stability problem arises from the very 'rubbery' feel of the pin/plank area. There is very little indication of when one has 'set' the pin because there is a sense that both the steel of the pin and the plank are 'soft', even though the pins are 'tight' in the plank. This sounds like contradiction, but I can't find another way of describing it. Having said all this, I can guarrantee that pitch will have dropped after a 6 month period on the domestic pianos. My comparisons are with the countless Yamahas ! which I tune and the growing number of Chinese imports.
