Roger,

I have seen marginal success with upright pianos, but only with the interior
installation. The Back Side System, as Wim suggests, seems too far removed
to do much good.

Hi List,

We have a technician who recommended our product to a customer with a dried
pinblock and doped tuning pins. He thought that the System would cure this
situation. He installed a Back Side Vertical System and has obtained good
pitch stability but not the affect he had hoped for on the pinblock. He is
not on the internet so he asked me to post this to see if any of you had any
suggestions. Thank you in advance for any help.

While the Dampchaser system maintains stability in the soundboard, it has
virtually no effects on the pin block, especially on pin blocks in vertical
pianos. This is because the pin block is enclosed, and the moisture from the
system doesn't get up in that area of the piano. If the pin dope has not
tightened the pins enough, I'm afraid the installation of the damp chaser
system is not going to do the job.
