Garland, Wim, and List : I've been noticing a bunch of you guys wondering HOW to get the Yellow OUT of Ivory Keys, ( and old plastic keys for that matter, too. ) I'm not going to attempt ANY lengthy explanation at this writing. But, I'm going to refer you to this ONE RPT-Technician who has many, many years successfully removing the "yellow" and most any discoloration from keytops. He doesn't have an e-mail, SO ......... You need to CALL him. His name is >>>>>>>>>> JAY MANGANO, RPT 615-226-0013 Nashville, Tennessee He is a Member of the Nashville Chapter, and if you didn't go to the convention this year, you could have had a chance to see him and he'd tell you completely what you need to do. and ............ DO IT WITHOUT CHEMICALS !!! Forget the "chemicals." You will be ABSOLUTELY AMAZED at the results you get from Jay's method of cleaning, AND polishing (at the same time), Ivory keytops. I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Jay REALLY needs to do an article on this topic for the Journal. It would help EVERYONE who subscribes. ( Jeannie, if you are reading this, give Jay a call, too. ) IT REALLY WORKS !!! Give Jay a call. You'll be glad you did. Dan Tassin, RPT Asst. piano Tech.
