1st, i would like to say thank you to lance for his story. i found it
interesting.

2nd, if there a problem with the list being clogged up with unnecessary
junk, surely it is because 90% of each mailing is comprised of previous
statements being pasted over and over. at best, maybe 10% of each mail is
new stuff. am i the only one that gets tired of scrolling past the same
post 40 times looking for the point that the respondent is trying to make?

finally, i am wondering - why is there such a stuck-up attitude around here?
the first day i subscribed to the list (a few months back) there was a
post by a woman complaining about someone else's post being too rudimentary
(it was regarding tuning method). this turned me off instantly. since
then, i read the list everyday, but have been hesitant to post anything for
fear of being condescended to and belittled.

in my postition as a university tech, i get far more out of a discussion
over practical matters than over theories of how to measure minute aspects
of action physics. i find such discussions interesting, but is this list
only for those who can contribute as such?

might i suggest to those elitists in the group, and those so worried about
who might read what you have to say, that you start your own private mailing
list, available only by invitation.

joe kemple (and no, i'm not a RPT (wanna make somethin' of it?))
