Samick string

Besides for Mapes, Schaff may be able to reproduce the string for you.

If neither of these work, try calling Samick. Sometimes piano
manufacturers can provide you with the string. Other times they can
direct you to a string maker that will have the necessary info to
reproduce the string.

Sometimes you can remove neighboring strings, send them in, and have
the string maker fill in the missing one. You may have to ask the maker
which strings to send in. Make sure you get the good ones back!

Maybe this measuring kit Jeff mentioned is good. Unfortunately, I don't
have it. Anyway, I avoid trying to measure the conventional way because
it seems that I (and many other technicians) don't do the measuring
identically. As a result you end up with copper windings too close to
either the bridge or agraffe.

Sincerely,
Gary Mushlin, MME, RPT
