Hi David,
=20
The room is about 18x20 with very high ceilings. (Organ pipes and all).
The HVAC is old and nuts.=20
=20
I don't really believe the DC will work either, but if we give it a try
and it doesn't maybe they will go for the room humidifier. The reason
they didn't already is cost. Smaller units seemed to be too labor
intensive (fill daily).
=20
Usually harpsichordists tune their own instruments, but here it's always
been the piano tech's job. The professor is a wonderful man willing let
the tuning go a bit, but I know there is a way to solve this or make it
better.

Jim -

Just curious...what are the dimensions of the organ room (l x w x h)?
What are the climate control characteristics? Why was a room unit
vetoed? Just from a theoretical point of view, I can't see how the
dampchaser will work in this application.

List,

Were installing a dampchaser on a new table that slides under a
harpsichord. (A photo is attached of the unit. It comes from Dampchaser)

Has anyone done this? It seems to be the only way to installa dampchaser
without being invasive.

Also, this harpsichord is closed in on the bottom, unlike the others we
have. IOW, the soundboard isnt seen from the bottom, but is enclosed
with a wood panel being on the very bottom. Will this work w/o being
next to the actual soundboard?

=20

FYI, the room its in is a large organ room and the RH changes so much
that the harpsichords pitch varies on any given day by 0 -15 cents.
Hence the need for humidity control. The professor teaches many
harpsichord students and needs the beast to stay in tune. Quite frankly,
Im not fond of tuning it so often. I suggested a room humidifier, (or
even a large aquarium&) but we opted to try this.

=20

Anyone ideas would be greatly appreciated.=20

Thanks,
