Jeff,
I've seen several that use the principal of a "Kelly" or "Johnny" bar =
and currently use a sawed off version of one myself. It is basically a =
lever on wheels available from most companies that sell moving =
equipment. A variation that Travis Gordy showed me was basically a bent =
lever without the wheels.  Leon Speir showed me one he had come up with =
that used a bumper jack that attached to a sling device that fits under =
the piano. I use a tilter on any caster replacements, there are useually =
other things that need attention by then, the bottom board, the socket, =
the hole the socket fits in,  and all the screws underneath.=20

  On the subject of dollies, jacks, and so forth, I've been wondering =
about a jack system that could lift one end of an upright piano -- =
perhaps to replace casters or even to place a dolly underneath.  I think =
it would be a useful tool, but have never seen any device that could do =
this (I've even contemplated designing and building something for that =
purpose myself -- personally, I'm tiring of lifting several hundred =
pound pianos, and have had trouble finding anyone who's willing to do =
that consistently).

  Has anyone here ever seen or heard of such a device?
