---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Don McKechnie, and colleagues - NASM and other accrediting agencies seem to perform a function in being the 'conservative' force in academia. Their accreditation process assures that the various schools adhere to more or less defined standards. CAUT is certainly on the right track in seeking some input into those standards. However, the very conservatism of the accreditation process makes it difficult to inject anything new. I suppose that's OK in the long run. And CAUT is definitely in it for the long run! The first steps in that direction were about 25 years ago. Indeed, increasing our presence in CSM is sure to bear fruit in NASM sooner or later. Thank you, Don, and CAUT Committee for carrying that torch! ~ Tom McNeil ~ Vermont Piano Restorations (Adamant Music School, Norwich University, Goddard College, Vermont College) 346 Camp Street Barre, VT 05641 (802) 476-7072 ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
