How loudly she was playing at the moment they broke is irrelevant. It's the accumulated hits over the life of the string that lead to breakage. I'm going to guess the "heavy hitter" part of her is what breaks strings, not the una corda. Pianists who are using una corda a lot are usually using it between ppp and mp, so it shouldn't really affect string bearing point wear. Might affect hammer and center-pinning durability, I suppose.
