---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment There is a good article I have photocopied in my=20 office from Piano Quarterly titled "Why, When,=20 How--and How Not to Prepare a Piano" from Piano=20 Quarterly by Maris/Bunger. Volume 109, Spring=20 1980, pages 34-40. I hand it to individuals who=20 are intent to compose or perform prepared piano=20 works, or give them the article citation and they=20 look it up on their own in the library. Then we=20 talk about it when "we" get to the=20 preparation. Regarding "The Well-Prepared Piano"=20 by Richard Bunger, I wish he had included the=20 instruction (if my memory is correct) to depress=20 the damper pedal when inserting items in the strings.
