Jeff:

-get a Dremel tool with the cutting wheel attachment.

-use a piano that you don't care about the potential damage to the rim 
finish.

-find a spot just ahead of the agraffe (speaking length side) where you 
won't damage the plate with the cutting wheel..or dull the wheel with 
the plate!

-wear eye protection and have fun.
