Absolute ditto here. Worked with him many times and he is by far one of the nicest guys in the business. He does clearly know what he wants and what he is getting, so just do your best. I have prepped "house" Steinways for him as well as Yamaha rentals. He sounds great on either. Enjoy.

  Hi, Paul -

I have worked with Chick several times. He is indeed a gentleman as well as a wonderfully creative musician. From my experience, he will be grateful for your efforts and not give you any difficulty.

Bring your wife to the concert for Valentine's, and have a great time!

I am about to embark on the most important concert prep I have done to this point. Chick Corea is coming to town on February 14 (not a day to my wife's liking!). He is playing with Gary Burton on vibes and that is all. I was wondering if any of you have tuned for him before? I spoke with his personal tech in LA a couple of days ago, and then he e-mailed me about 30 hours of work to do on our Steinway D. (His tech is apparantly not in the Guild, but has been in the biz for some 30 years+) I have no doubts that the piano will be beautiful, and I think the piano will probably meet his standards in about 15-20 hours. that's not my point. I am just inquiring as to any tips you all can give me if you have worked for the gentleman.

    Thanks for the input!

    Paul
