Greg-

There is a special four-sided screwdriver designed for regulating rocker capstans. That may solve your action dilemma. Contact Jurgen or Renner and ask for a "Bechstein screwdriver."

  Hello list,

I am curious as to what experience anyone has had with updating actions for an early 20th century vintage of Weber grand action with that incredibly inconvenient sticker and rocker-capstan action. Seems like a fairly straightforward job of moving to modern capstans and wippens, but any horror stories or hints about what to watch for would be appreciated. Also, for those that know, what can one reasonably expect from these instruments (concert grand) given the design of their rim and plate assemblies in the area of possible power and projection improvement from a rebuild? Does the rebuild automatically mean new sb and bridges?

  Thanks in advance,

  Greg Granoff
