[CAUT] Spectrum analysis (was Re: pinning)

A few years back, I remember a post containing a link to some freeware  
spectrum analysis software. DIdn't have a laptop at the time, so I  
didn't bother. I find there are many out there now (most for windows,  
but some for mac. used to be the other way around), and wonder if  
anyone has tried them and has a recommendation. The RCT thing is  
useful but pretty limited.
