Hi - We have a dozen or so 50-year-old 1098s, although they're called 4510s. They don't have the middle pedal. And there's also one early 70s 1098 in walnut, not ebony. BTW, like David said, there are TWO screws in EACH cheekblock, so it is a little different from a grand. (First time I saw one, I could not figure out how to open the thing up.
