Hi Ed, Perhaps several of us from different parts of the country with different climates might try this. A good test must entail many different bits of information with many various pianos, felts, environments, glues that attach them, etc. (wood types, glues used, or not in some Steinways (guide rails) ) I'll try it here in Nebrasky. I've both profelt and the usual. Anyone else have other solutions they use?.. This would, indeed, be a good way to tell what really works! What fun! (fun in a sick, techno sort of way!) I won't get to the test until January, but the weather will still be dry (at least here). Please remind me to do this in January. I won't get to any test pianos this week. Just winding up the regulation and then tunings on my Big Red Steinway!!! :>) Other than the strange change on appearance,(from a sick sort-of green walnut-ish...ick) the Big Red will be a marvelous '26 M with Wally's Naturals. I haven't even started to begin the voicing, but I hear some wonderful potentials! I guess I'm sort of sick, but I wish I could work on this piano over Christmas break, but if I do, won't get any time credited for my work during the 'shut down' time. (I may still come in, though....Aren't we all a bit insane with something that is going to be absolutely beautiful????!!!!) My original understanding from Pianotek is that this stuff is intended for use as a loosening agent together with cauls for over tight centers or bushings. Does it also work as well for swelling up loose bushings, or was that a misunderstanding? I would like to try it on a set of loose damper guide rail bushings for an S&S B if that is recommended. many thanks, Dennis Johnson St. Olaf College -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
