Further, Temperament is simply the combination by which the fixed pitch
instrument, and only the fixed pitch instrument, is enslaved. No other
instrument is so bound. All music composed for instrumentation other than
fixed pitch has been able to freely go where it will. Music never has and
never will be based on temperament unless it was purposefully intended as a
parody of the limitations of scale of the fixed pitch instrument.
