Hi Dave, I was dumbfounded when I saw this on the website under "How to tune your own piano". Another site describes the same nonsense and adds "Find out what technicians don't want you to know..." Oooooo! We are a devilish, lot making millions off the dumb masses... Maybe it's a good thing that I'm not very computer saavy. I'd go completely nuts seeing much of this stuff! Best, Jim (p.s. I'm almost out of that Cajun spice you gave me. Might have to come down there and get some more! Don't send any, I need a good excuse.) ________________________________________ From: caut-bounces at ptg.org [caut-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of David Doremus [algiers_piano at bellsouth.net] Sent: Friday, May 15, 2009 10:33 AM To: caut at ptg.org Subject: Re: [CAUT] websites Jim Busby wrote: > > Here’s all you need to toon your own piano…. > Jim, I tune a Steinway that clearly was tuned that way in the past, the pins are so ground down that my tip just barely grabs them. When I pointed this out I was told that the owners father had liked to tune it himself....I can see restringing in this pianos future... -- --Dave New Orleans
