Sorry, Richard. By far, the most profit margin goes to the dealer, and that is by FAR. Manufacturers can show a little muscle and require the dealer to do its part.  Lot of profit margin being forfeited to just sell on price these days. 40% off of list isn't uncommon.  When a $10,000 piano goes for $5,999, there's plenty of resources there for the dealer to do a little prep work.
