I really doubt that it's the ONLY one in the country! I can check out further about it if you wish. Many of the techs I've talked to say that they have great replicas but don't know if they're exactly the 1780's Mozart/Walter models. I'll ask a further question. However, I really doubt that we have the only one. The article says UNL has a replica of Mozart's 1780s fortepiano. Then it says UNL has the only performing replica in the United States. Could it be that the fortepiano we have is the only performing replica of Mozart's fortepiano?? Just making sure. Thanks. I'm basically a one-person show when it comes to editing/writing/designing/publishing the Scarlet....sometimes things slip by as I'm being pulled in different directions. Thanks for your patience on this one. On Fri, Oct 2, 2009 at 3:22 PM, Paul T Williams < pwilliams4 at unlnotes.unl.edu> wrote: Hi Troy, No, she didn't ask me for any information. I've heard from many piano techs from universities around the country and there are lots of them, as I thought. Of course, Malcolm Bilson has at least one at Cornell, otherwise, how could he be the expert in them?!! Thanks for checking into this. Best, Paul T. The writer is out of the School of Music...she works for Mike Edholm and John Richmond. I'll run a correction next week. It's ultimately my fault.....I should have double checked on the facts. Thanks for the heads up. One paragraph states that our School of Music has the only performing replica (fortepiano) in the United States. This is simply untrue. I know of other universities that also have performing replicas. Indiana University for one. I'm sure schools of music like Oberlin, Peabody, Julliard, Berkley must also have these historic replicas. I would like to know where your writer got her information. I'm quite interested. Thank you for providing me any information on this. Paul T.
