[CAUT] topstick

I made up a bunch of short  sticks and gave them away like candy a few years back. I gave them to our faculty and some of our collaborative pianists for their travels and put a couple in our Ds. I need to make some more now though because it seems they have walked away. This time though for the ones here I think I'll drill a hole through the stick and tie them to the piano somehow to discourage migration.

Subject: [CAUT] topstick

I need to order a short stick for a Steinway D.   In the parts catalog, I see a topstick tongue.  Is that the same thing as the short stick?
Also, it comes as ebony finished if wanted - I wonder if that will be gloss or satin.   If it's high polish I'll have to rub it out to a satin.  Steinway parts dept. just had an answering machine and they haven't called back.
