[CAUT] Krinkle finish on Steinway 'B' plate

Hi all,

FYI
If I am going to all the effort to pull the plate on a older instrument, I generally will refinish the plate. Steinway plate finish, is available directly from Steinway or can be obtained from their supplier/manufacturer. Granted it is not the same Steinway "gold" used in yesteryear. One can also obtain the lacquer Steinway uses (black or clear) from the same source. Interestingly, they also make "hammer juice" as they call it for Steinway, and one can also buy it direct from them.
They are in St.Louis and the company is Walter Wurdack, Inc. Their website is www.wurdack.com.
