Dave,

I have too, but I've seen several posts that say this ruins keytops, makes them rough, etc. Until I sense some kind of consensus I'm reluctant to recommend this to faculty.

I have used isopropyl alcohol for many years and have never seen any damage on the keys.  It's a good solvent and evaporates quickly and kills germs quickly.
