I told the dealer at the beginning that I didn't want ANY of those...they are the least stable piano I have ever had to deal with in an institutional setting. The UP126 and 132s are different beasts altogether and are not built at all like the 118s. They have much heavier bracing than the U-1 and my intuition is that they'll hold up better over time. Ask me again in 10-20 years. I have a practice room floor full of 1098, Yamaha U1, and Boston UP118. The newest are the Boston's and they will be the first retired, even though they are 12 years newer than the U1 specimens, and 25 years newer than the 1098's. Glad to hear the 126 and 132 models are sturdy; the 118's here, uh, are not. The staying-in-tune champ here is the Yamaha U1 by mile; I think they are beefy enough. It would be really nice to have that third position... We didn't purchase any Essex pianos...I don't know who started that. They all arrived at about A-442 and I haven't found one yet that has gone below A-440. Some of the practice room pianos haven't been tuned yet but they are still functional with the factory tuning. They shot hours and hours of footage and the segment will last only about 10 minutes so there's no telling what wasn't left on the cutting-room floor...watch and find out!
