Here on Cape Cod, pianos sound their best in October and November.
The hammers get damp/softer in the Summer and dry/harder in the Winter.

The hammers, or maybe it's the piano overall, sound better in the 
Fall than they
do in the Spring which are generally about the same RH, so there must
be something in that transition.

I try to voice and regulate in the 'off' seasons of Fall and Spring. 
preferably Fall.
