Kent, The statements from the Faculty Sponsor and Chair of the Keyboard Division speak volumes. I think (hope) that in light of this concert they would be all in for a recommendation of finding additional monies toward the Piano Maintenance department for future (and protracted) repair work. It may be worth approaching them sooner than later while the concert is fresh and/or still resonating, in their minds. JMHO Gerry Cousins WCUPA PS Also be on the watch for the people whom may question the technicians workmanship, the quality of the "inferior" piano or other such find the blame games. They DO walk amongst us. Date: Mon, 22 Mar 2010 09:25:29 -0500 From: kswafford at gmail.com To: ed440 at mindspring.com; caut at ptg.org Subject: Re: [CAUT] Keith Kirchoff Agreed. However, in this case the damaged state of the piano after the performance spoke for itself. The faculty sponsor of the concert admitted he had never heard a piano played as hard. The chair of the keyboard division left the concert before its end, saying that she felt sorry for the piano. And he's a very gifted performer. I had the opportunity to tune for him while I was spending some time at the Banff Centre last year. He may play hard but I think it is disrespectful to label him a "piano abuser".
