[CAUT] restringing problems

Richard,

I suppose it could be the wire, based on the fact that it's only the 14g
wire that's fussy. Are there other notes of 14g that aren't problematic, or
no? Could just be a fussy section of the piano. Is there humidity control
on the piano? What's the environment been like there? I know it's only the
one section, but sometimes all those other common suspects can make an
otherwise tolerable problem much more, er, problematic. One trick I like to
use is squeezing the wire just in front of the hitch pin to stabilize that
bend more quickly - not overdoing it, but basically aiming to get the wire
coming around the pin tightly and off the pin straight. I don't know that
it's your solution, but it might help.
