This has been the other usual suspect (besides a cheating jack) when I have encountered this symptom previously, but no, that's not it either.

This was Terry Farrell's initial guess over on pianotech, and oneof the two most common causes of this problem, in my experience.  But, inthis case, that's not it.

You may find that the jack is cheating and if so turn it back insmall increments until it plays on the hardest blow.

Theproblem: There were a couple of notes that, when played really hard, would notspeak at all (no repeated playing of the note involved).  Other than that,these notes work just fine.  This was something I had never seen before,so it took a few seconds longer than usual to figure out what was goingwrong.  Any ideas about what it was?
