I have both the ones shown and a heavier pair. Both are in the 5 to 7 inch length. The heavier and longest I use in forming the bends in my string hook tool to bend music wire that is .051

Hmmmm, Could be. Or Ron too, good visual aid. But Joe, jewelers pliers? Maybe so. I've never seen jewelers pliers, but these clearly have the notch for the bridal wire, or is that something in jewelry too?

I always considered that another 90% tool.  You buy it from the supply house and have to "customize" it to make it work.   You _could_ determine the angle by lightly putting the groove up against the wire, even if not fully engaging it.
