Have any of you had a chance to use the new diamond abrasive capo bar file manufactured by Guitar Shop Supply Co.? It was designed by Ken Slater, and allows reshaping capo bars in the piano. Based upon my own experience and suggestions from a couple of others, I'm considering two changes to its design. First, the tool shapes the capo profile to a diameter of around 5/32" (radius of just over 1/16"). Most manufacturers and many technicians seem to prefer a slightly sharper radius. Secondly, the edges of the tool (on either side of the abrasive-coated groove) are not coated with abrasive, so that on very blunt capos these edges ride on the cast iron and prevent the file from cutting. Ken Sloane, I assume you have used this tool. I'd appreciate yours and anyone else's suggestions on these proposed changes. Thanks! Bill Spurlock
