John: There are several Canadian organizations, perhaps 4 or 5 besides PTG. They are very small organizations, 60 to 90 members each, who tend to be concerned with issues unique to Canada many times. Some are dual members in PTG. President Speir just met with CAPT at the PNW Conference in Vancouver, discussing exam parity and other issues. I assume Home Office may have a listing of these organizations. Re: the Ancott directory, it is a music product directory published twice per year and available in the Acoustic Piano Edition, the Electronic Keyboard Edition, the Computer Edition, and the Discontinued keyboards edition. Subscription price for the Acoustic edition is $38.00/1 year or $65.00/2 years. It lists pianos by brand and model, giving average suggested retail price, size, style& finish, and features. Features listed are soundboard type (lam. or solid), s.b sq. inches, pinblock plies, #1 bass string length, & country of origin. I find the Ancott guide handy when doing purchase consulting with piano shoppers, and to keep current on manufacturers product lines. Bill Spurlock
