Reply: When I first experimented with softener I started out by using one drop at a time wherever I determined the need: strike point, shoulder--remember the stuff seeps in. If you over soften, you must know how to bring up the tone again using your favorite hardener. Experience teaches how much to use, but when starting out, my best advise is to tread lightly.
