Following up on requests from last Saturday: [This is my second try at posting this response - I am still having access problems and I don't think the previous note made it.] Master Piano Technicians of America, Inc., was started in 1976 by a group of technicians. As with the Canadian technician organizations, many MPT members have dual membership with PTG. We have 185 members in about 35 states (and Canada) but most are in the Eastern US. I have been the editor of our newsletter for several years, and publish it 4 times a year. We have one national convention a year (this year it is in Lexington, Kentucky, in July), but of course local chapters meet on a regular basis. Dues is 25 dollars per year. Local chapters are mostly autonomous, including setting the requirements for membership. Requirements for membership for those not within the area of a local chapter are controlled by the national organization. The national membership chairman is Joe Benvenuto, 129 West Nippon Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19119 (phone 215.247.1747).
