For a given downward movement of the key the hammer will move more quickly with the pre-84 part because the knuckle is closer to the hammer shank center. Ken Sloane: >A point of curiosity here. How are you measuring hammer speed? David Stanwood: I don't. I associate hammer movement with the strike ratio. Speed, weight, and distance ratios are all associated.
