A dab of glue on the lead, mashed in with your thumb, is forced into the gaps between the lead and wood. The clicks go away immediately, and the stuff is elastic enough when dry to move with the wood through the seasonal changes. Works on key leads too. I've been doing this for over fifteen years and haven't had any problems, except for an increasingly ugly thumb. Ron =:^*^:= Nossaman
