Hands Off Fallboard Locks

We use the Hands Off Fallboard Lock (Pianotek, Ferndale, MI) on a number
of our performance instruments but have had some difficulty locks
disappearing.  I have toyed with the idea of attaching the lock to the
piano using plastic-coated steel cable (small gauge) and a clip of some
sort, but I wonder if anyone has tried this and seen it fail -- for
whatever reason.  I don't think the company that makes the lock offers a
"leashed lock" so I may be on my own on this one (there's no manufacturer
name *anywhere* on the package or lock!).  Any brainstorm ideas would be
appreciated.
