Inharmonicity

Inharmonicity is controlled primarily by core diameter, secondarily by the
lengths unwound. If you are replacing with a universial then match the core
first and winding second. Wrap controls tension which determines power more
than anything else.

String makers cuase many problems because they often make replacement sets with
the wrap too far from the agraffe. Inharmonicity increases by the fourth power
of the unwrapped ends. I, therefore, prefer to send the string maker a set of
specification with no indication of the make or model for which the strings
were designed.
