>People who market refinished and rebuilt used Baldwins say that >most
Baldwins are now made in Mexico.

Baldwin key sets, actions, and vertical bridges are made in Juarez, Mexico,
with the exception of the Renner action used in the 7 and 9 foot concert
grands. The Renner actions include the damper action, but the key sets for
the concert grands are made in Mexico. Juarez also makes actions and key
sets for several other manufacturers.

There are no pianos made by Baldwin in Mexico, only piano components. All
Baldwin verticals, Wurlitzer verticals, and Chickering grands are built in
Trumann, AR., as well as piano backs for a prominent manufacturer who would
not want it known that they are not building their own backs. All Baldwin
grands are built in Conway, AR. With the exception of the D. H. Baldwin line
and electronic instruments, no Baldwin pianos are built at any other location
than these.

Dir. of Piano R & D,
