knuckle size and centerpin height

In Don and Randy Morton's class on the grand action, given in
Albuqueque, Randy mentioned that the reason a smaller knuckle
may give a better results is because the centerpin location on
the hammer flange may be too low.  He stated that his research
indicates that by raising the pin's location at the flange by
2mm on the Steinway shanks and flanges and I think, the other
styles as well (Tokiwa), gives the best results when replacing
parts, because that is where the original placement was. FWIW.
