   The recent response to the advertising question provided an interesting
situation.  One ad appears, and a common reaction is that we don't want items
that clog our E-mail boxes with junk.  It seemed ironic that the one ad,
resulted in close to 20  responses essentially saying the same thing. ( I've
become pretty quick on the 'ol delete button)...talk about clutter.

   As far as the "cute" little notes are concerned, I am as guilty as anyone.
 My impression had been that this was a source for exchanging technical
information, but that it had a relaxed enough atmosphere such that 'inside'
jokes would be appreciated.  I've never thought one could please everyone,
but now it seems like the mood is certainly changing.  In the future I'll
avoid using the quick cutsie post.  I am having a hard time not using recent
material, such as the Chickering "Quarter" Grand=Chickering 2-bit Grand (by
the way, I happen to know of three of these,...none of them are like the
others.  But then that's Chickering)  And I was all set to make reference to
the "Journals on CD" series with a "tuner fiche" joke.  But now I will
conduct myself with more dignity.
