Dear Dennis, You posted: ------------ "...I have a follow up question concerning key ratio. If the key ratio is so underleveraged that the repositioned capstans will not sit under the cushions..." ------------ Just at our last Oklahoma Chapter meeting, one technician showed where he had repositioned some capstans, and as a result of that, had to relocate the wippen heels as well to match up. He indicated his determination for doing such a radical change was an extremely heavy touch (underleveraged?). However, this was not a Steinway Grand as in your case. I wish I could offer you more, but alas, no practical experience with making such significant changes as you are mentioning. Best of luck... Keith A. McGavern, RPT Oklahoma Chapter
