Aggressive players

What about the environmental conditions in the churches? The rooms are
large, and often drafty. It would seem likely that the humidity could
change quite dramatically, quite often. Could this effect be, at least
partly, responsible for the problem of breaking strings? (Along with
aggressive playing). Of the teacher's pianos, I don't seem to be
replacing strings very often, and believe me, they can sure bang away at
the piano!
