I saw a class at the New England Regional a couple of years ago presented by a
couple of techs from Concert Artist at S&S where they demonstrated using the
ketyop/acetone mix. They were using that exclusively - no laquer. Their method
was to more or less saturate the hammers to "add power" and then needle to
"remove noise".
Are you saying that you would use laquer first, followed by the keytop
solution for evening up the tone? Do you find that you can get penetration after
first applying the laquer?
