I saw a class at the New England Regional a couple of years ago presented by a couple of techs from Concert Artist at S&S where they demonstrated using the ketyop/acetone mix. They were using that exclusively - no laquer. Their method was to more or less saturate the hammers to "add power" and then needle to "remove noise". Are you saying that you would use laquer first, followed by the keytop solution for evening up the tone? Do you find that you can get penetration after first applying the laquer? Mark Dierauf
