As someone over here peering at you over their, generally just mainly lurking on this list, I have a few questions to put accross to you. 1. is there a College course in America for piano tuning and repairs. if so to what level does the course take you too. 2.Does the PTG recognize such courses as an entrance to their organization. If not why not. 3. What is entailed in the PTG's exam, what is the pass mark and does the exam have a written paper. In the UK most tuners are trained at College they are generally two to three year courses. The two piano tuning fraternities in the UK have different entrance criteria. The ABPT requires that you have a diploma in piano tuning and repairs. The PTA requires you to take a test you must have been a practicing tuner for five years including your training before you can take the test. Thank you for the info. -- \ | / (o o) ---------------------oOO--U--OOo---------------------------- Barrie Heaton Email piano@forte.demon.co.uk ------------------------------------------------------------
